Animal Rights Success Story: 1,500 Beagles from Ridglan Farms are getting new homes

To anyone following animal welfare news and the animal rights movement, there are exciting updates about the beagles held captive at Ridglan Farms. After activists stormed the facility last month, information surrounding the mistreatment of beagles at Ridglan Farms was amplified. Two rescue organizations, Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and The Beagle Freedom Project, have bought 1,500 dogs and will be working to find them homes.

Ridglan Farms, located in Madison, Wisconsin, breeds beagles for biomedical research and performs invasive, harmful and inhumane procedures on the dogs. A representative of Big Dog Ranch Rescue says that the dogs rescued so far have large areas for play, and swimming pools, and are being cared for by staff. This is an animal rights success story that will encourage future conversations surrounding animal testing and research facilities treatment of animals.
